With the Immediate family notified I am going to fill the rest of you in on the events of this morning.

Dad had a CT scan last night and the results of the scan were not good.  The cancer has spread all over Dads body and has infiltrated the lungs, lymph nodes, and his bone.  There are no more treatment options available to help Dad any further.  It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that Dad will be transitioned to hospice by the end of the day, resting comfortably at his home.  He is in good spirits and he is ready to leave the hospital.  As with anything there is no prognosis on how much time Dad has left with us.  We will take each day as it comes.

I will post more once we get him transitioned home.

Little Jim

  1. Dear Big Jim,

I have been thinking of you all day. I am sorry the cancer has spread. Sad that your days here are fewer than we want.

I was thinking today about how we are in God’s pasture and we are his sheep. And how being his sheep does not change no matter how hard life is. And how this life reminds me of learning to swim. I remember my mom getting in the water with me. Me holding onto the wall with white knuckles. Mama would walk away from the wall and stand facing me and beckoned me to walk towards her. And I would move towards her in the water and she would keep backing up! Making me keep moving towards her. That’s an image I have of our walk here. That we are walking towards our Heavenly Father. His loving kind face beckoning us to keep walking. You have walked well cousin. And you are almost there. And when you arrive “you will know fully as you are fully known.”

You are all in my prayers.

    Much love,

  2. This is sad news but we do not grieve as those with no hope! Jim and the rest of us can only imagine what wonders and joy he will be experiencing soon. He has fought the fight, soon he will finish the race and hear the words we all should strive for, “well done thou good and faithful servant.”
    Love to all
